Fans of kaiju movies, the wait is finally over! The award-winning Godzilla Minus One is finally available to stream on Netflix. However, for now, the film’s reach is limited.
Godzilla Minus One, which won the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects, landed on Netflix on May 31 in several regions, including the Philippines, Australia, Malaysia, and Germany, among others.
While an official U.S. release date hasn’t been confirmed, fans can look forward to digital purchases and rentals on platforms like YouTube and Google Play starting June 1.
Netflix offers Godzilla Minus One with subtitles in various languages, including English, Japanese (original language), Filipino, and Spanish. It’s anticipated that these options will extend to the U.S. release as well.
Godzilla Minus One’s international rollout has generated significant buzz, and for good reason. The 2023 Japanese kaiju film scored 98% on Tomatometer in Rotten Tomatoes. It is the 37th movie in the overall Godzilla franchise. It grossed over $115.8 million at the box office.
Directed by Takashi Yamazaki, the film features performances by Ryunosuke Kamiki, Minami Hamabe, and Yuki Yamada.
