PLDT Group extends assistance to Typhoon Kristine-affected communities

As Typhoon Kristine continues to wreak havoc across the Philippines, the PLDT Group is stepping up its efforts to provide relief and assistance to affected communities. Smart Communications has announced a temporary suspension of account redirection to alleviate the burden on customers in typhoon-hit areas.

To further support those in need, Smart Prepaid subscribers can now access Loan-A-Load through Facebook Free Mode. For just Php 5, customers can avail themselves of a 100MB open access data allowance, valid for one day. TNT subscribers can also access “TNT Utang Na Load” via Facebook or by dialing *5623# for various data, calls, and text offers.

Despite the challenges posed by Typhoon Kristine, PLDT and Smart’s network services have remained relatively stable, with only limited disruptions in areas experiencing commercial power outages.

In addition to providing relief supplies, the PLDT Group has also sent an initial batch of mats and blankets to support the Alagang Kapatid Foundation’s relief efforts. The AKFI team is planning to travel to Bicol when conditions improve to provide immediate assistance to affected communities.

Furthermore, PLDT Smart Foundation (PSF) has announced its readiness to deploy relief goods together with PLDT and Smart volunteers and the Alagang Kapatid Foundation. Prepositioned response teams are on standby to be deployed by the PLDT Group once local government units deem it safe to do so.
