realme has unveiled its latest innovation at MWC 2025 in Barcelona, Spain. The new realme 14 Pro Series, consisting of the realme 14 Pro 5G and 14 Pro+ 5G, features the world’s first cold-sensitive color-changing technology.
These phones combine a pearl texture, temperature-sensitive color-changing technology, a seamless quad-curved display, and the industry’s first triple flash camera system. This brings another masterpiece to realme’s premium design lineup.
Design is a key driver of innovation for realme, aiming to create unique, premium designs that break away from industry norms. This year, they are focused on reshaping the Number Series, making a significant impact in the mid-to high-end market.
The realme 14 Pro Series was developed in collaboration with Valeur Designers, a renowned design studio based in Copenhagen, Denmark. Valeur Designers have over 29 years of experience and are known for their Nordic design style, which emphasizes simplicity, functionality, and a connection to nature.
Color-changing Pearl Design
Inspired by ocean wonders, realme presents the “Unique Pearl Design” for the Pearl White edition of the 14 Pro Series. This design features a polished, shell-like texture with a shimmering luster, enhanced by organic seashell powder. Both models have a sleek, ultra-thin profile, with the 14 Pro measuring 7.55 mm in thickness and the 14 Pro+ just under 8 mm.
What sets the 14 Pro and 14 Pro+ apart is the groundbreaking cold-sensitive color-changing technology. Using advanced thermochromic pigments, these devices change color based on temperature. When exposed to temperatures below 16°C, the rear cover shifts from pearl white to vibrant blue and transitions back as temperatures warm up.
Each Pearl White variant has a unique back cover. The back covers are created through a unique process involving over 30 steps of craftsmanship. Additionally, the fusion fiber used comprises 95% eco-friendly materials, making it biodegradable, renewable, and energy-efficient.
realme 14 Pro Series
The realme 14 Pro+ 5G boasts a 120Hz 6.83-inch 1.5K OLED display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 processor, and a massive 6000mAh battery with 80W wired fast charging.
It features a triple camera setup that includes a 50MP Sony IMX896 main sensor, a 50MP Sony IMX882 periscope lens with 3x zoom, and an 8MP ultra-wide lens. A 32MP selfie camera sits at the front.
The realme 14 Pro 5G, on the other hand, offers a slightly smaller 120Hz 6.77-inch FHD OLED display, a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Energy 5G processor, and a similar 6000mAh battery but with 45W wired fast charging.
It features a dual camera setup with a 50MP Sony IMX882 main camera, paired with a monochrome sensor.
These devices hold the TÜV Rheinland Rugged Smartphone Certification with IP69, IP68, and IP66 ratings, allowing underwater use for up to an hour, ensuring durability in various conditions. They also run on realme UI 6, on top of Android 15, with several AI features.
Price and Availability
While the official pricing has not yet been revealed, the launch of the realme 14 Pro Series 5G is scheduled for March 20, 2025. Pre-orders are ongoing until March 19, 2025, at any realme physical store nationwide.
