Funko, Inc. is expanding into Southeast Asia with its first licensed store in the Philippines, set to open in June 2025 at SM Mall of Asia. Operated by Funtastik Enterprises Corp., the store will serve as a dedicated hub for Filipino collectors and pop culture enthusiasts.
The Philippines is one of Funko’s most active markets in Southeast Asia, thanks to its thriving comic conventions, highly engaged fan communities, and a booming e-commerce ecosystem. This strategic location will help Funko deepen local engagement and attract new fans.
“The Philippines has been one of our strongest-performing markets in Asia, and this licensed store represents our investment in its passionate fanbase. We’ve seen great success with similar licensed stores in the Middle East, and we’re excited to bring that same momentum here,” said Cynthia Williams, CEO of Funko, Inc.
The SM Mall of Asia store will offer a range of exclusive merchandise, including the popular Funko Pop! line, Bitty Pop!, Loungefly, and Manila-exclusive apparel. Fans can also enjoy interactive zones celebrating franchises from entertainment, sports, music, and the rapidly growing anime culture.
This expansion is part of Funko’s global strategy to “meet fans where they are” and enhance its presence in international markets. The brand aims to deliver exceptional customer experiences while strengthening ties with local collectors.
