Anker Philippines recalls power banks over battery safety concern

Check affected models and how to claim a replacement or voucher.

Anker Philippines is recalling several power bank models due to a possible issue with battery cells from a single supplier.

In a Facebook post, the company said the affected lithium-ion cells were used in multiple models. While the risk of malfunction is low, Anker is recalling the products as a safety precaution.

The following models are included in the recall:

  • Anker Power Bank A1257 (10K, 22.5W)
  • Anker Power Bank A1647 (20,000mAh, 22.5W, built-in USB-C cable)
  • Anker Zolo Power Bank A1681 (20,000mAh, 30W, built-in USB-C and Lightning cables)
  • Anker Zolo Power Bank A1689 (20,000mAh, 30W, built-in USB-C cable)

How to check if your power bank is affected

To find out if your device is part of the recall:

  1. Go to Anker’s Product Recall Submission Form.
  2. Upload a photo of your power bank’s serial number.

You can also go to an Anker store to drop off your unit after verifying the serial number online. Bring your receipt, printout, or screenshot of your serial number verification.

If your unit is confirmed to be affected, stop using it right away and dispose of it safely.

Compensation Options

Anker is offering two options:

  • A free replacement (sent via email after approval)
  • A voucher for use on the Anker Shopee store
