Maya Bank has been named the Best Virtual Bank in the Philippines for the third year in a row. The award was given at the Asian Banking & Finance Retail Banking Awards 2025.
The recognition comes as Maya continues to grow. In the first quarter of 2025, the bank reported ₱44 billion in deposits, up 49% from last year. It also disbursed ₱28 billion in loans, tripling its year-on-year total. Maya now serves 6.8 million customers, an 88% increase. Since its launch, the bank has released ₱120 billion in loans.
The digital bank offers banking and payment services on one platform, using real-time data to improve credit decisions and prevent fraud. It also helps tailor financial products to users’ needs.
They continue to focus on serving mobile-first users like Millennials and Gen Zs, as well as small businesses.
Many Filipinos still save money at home or borrow informally. Only a small share of loans go to micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), which make up most of the country’s businesses.
This marks the third consecutive year Maya has been honored by Asian Banking & Finance, named Best Virtual Bank in 2023 and Best New Virtual Bank in 2024.
