The Social Security System (SSS) has started accepting applications for its new MySSS Card, officially launched on September 8. The card replaces the UMID and doubles as a debit card linked to a savings account.
The MySSS Card is equipped with an EMV chip, which offers secure access to benefits and loans. It’s also integrated with PhilSys eVerify and biometric authentication. Members can use it for everyday transactions like shopping, transport fares, and online purchases.
The first issuing bank is RCBC, through its DiskarTech platform. AUB, China Bank, and Union Bank will follow. Once issued, the card automatically becomes the member’s disbursement account. No need to enroll it separately in the DAEM system.
To apply, members must have a permanent SSS number, an active My.SSS Portal account with updated details, and be registered under the National ID system. Applications can be done online or at partner bank branches. RCBC users can open accounts via the DiskarTech app.

Card delivery takes 15 working days in Metro Manila and up to 20 days in other areas.
According to SSS, the MySSS Card is for SSS transactions. Other government agencies and private institutions may not accept it valid ID, depending on their respective policies. Old SSS cards like the UMID are still valid and can be replaced with a MySSS Card if needed.
