Crunchyroll raises subscription prices in the Philippines

Crunchyroll has increased subscription prices in the Philippines, set to take effect on February 2, 2026. The adjustment will apply to existing monthly subscribers on their next billing cycle.

The Fan tier will rise from PHP 79 to PHP 99 per month. The Mega Fan tier will move from PHP 99 to PHP 119 per month.

Both tiers will keep their current features, including ad-free streaming, access to the full anime library, and simulcast episodes released shortly after Japan. Offline viewing also remains available.

The Mega Fan plan continues to offer streaming on up to four devices and access to Crunchyroll Game Vault, a collection of mobile and PC games exclusive to subscribers.

Crunchyroll explained that the increase is part of its global expansion strategy, aimed at supporting more anime content and improving platform services. The platform currently offers over 50,000 episodes and 2,000 series/films, amounting to over 25,000 hours of content.

In the Philippines, regional licensing limits Crunchyroll’s catalog to about 10,000 to 14,000 episodes across 400 to 500 titles.

This move aligns with similar adjustments in other regions. Other streaming services, including Netflix and Disney+, have also raised subscription prices in recent years, showing a broader industry trend toward higher costs as platforms expand their content libraries.
