Samsung has rolled out a new version of Bixby as part of the One UI 8.5 beta program. The update turns Bixby into a conversational device agent, focusing on simple commands and everyday language, so users don’t have to remember exact menu names.
For example, you can say, “I don’t want the screen to time out while I’m still looking at it,” and Bixby will turn on the “Keep Screen on While Viewing” option. It can also explain why certain things happen, like the screen staying on in your pocket, and suggest fixes like enabling Accidental Touch Protection.
Another big change is real-time web search. You can now ask Bixby for information and see results without leaving the assistant. If you search for hotels in Seoul with pools for kids, the results will show up right in Bixby.
The beta update is available in select countries, including Germany, India, Korea, Poland, the UK, and the US, with more regions coming soon. It requires a Samsung Account and an internet connection.

Bixby supports several languages and accents, including English, Korean, Mandarin Chinese, Spanish, and Portuguese. Performance may vary depending on how words are pronounced.
What do you think of a smarter Bixby? Are you excited to use the new features? Stay tuned.
