Nothing Headphone (a) is now official: ANC, spatial audio, and 5-day battery

Nothing has announced its first over-ear headphones, called the Headphone (a). The design is more solid compared to the brand’s earbuds, available in black, white, and pink. A limited yellow edition will follow on April 6. At 310 grams, they are lighter than Apple’s AirPods Max but heavier than Sony’s WH-1000XM6.

The Headphone (a) comes with 40mm drivers and supports active noise cancellation, transparency mode, and a hybrid mode that mixes both. LDAC support allows high-quality wireless audio, while spatial audio adds depth to music and movies. For those who prefer wired listening, a 3.5mm jack is included.

Controls are physical, with a power switch, Bluetooth pairing button, volume roller, and track rocker. A multifunction button lets users switch modes, trigger the camera, or even call up ChatGPT.

Battery life is rated at up to five days. A quick five-minute charge gives five hours of playback, making them handy for travel or daily use.

Do you think Nothing’s Headphone (a) can compete with established ANC headphones from bigger brands? Stay tuned.
