Suikoden anime gets October 2026 release date and new trailer

Konami has confirmed that Suikoden: The Anime will premiere in October 2026. A new trailer has been released, showing more of the story and introducing additional cast members.

Suikoden: The Anime

The anime is based on Suikoden II, one of the most popular RPGs from the PlayStation era. It tells the story of Riliu and Jowy, two childhood friends from the Highland Kingdom, who are caught in a war that leads them to the legendary 108 Stars of Destiny.

The series is directed by YUZO under Konami Animation. Michihiro Tsuchiya is in charge of the series composition, Ryo Yamauchi handles character design, and Koji Nakamura is behind the music.

The cast includes Toshiki Kumagai as Riliu, Shinba Tsuchiya as Jowy, and Ayumi Hinohara as Nanami. New additions include Taku Yashiro as Luca Blight, Chika Anzai as Jillia Blight, and Ayumu Murase as Luc, among others.

The trailer shows both the personal struggles of the characters and the larger battles that define the story.

Fans can expect a faithful retelling of the game’s themes of friendship, betrayal, and leadership, while new viewers will get a chance to experience one of the most respected RPG stories in anime form.
