Perplexity Health connects Apple Health and Fitbit for medical answers

Perplexity has launched Perplexity Health, a new feature that connects your health data to its AI platform. The service can answer medical questions with information from apps and devices like Apple Health, Fitbit, Ultrahuman, Withings, and even electronic health records from over 1.7 million care providers.

The rollout will start in the US for Pro and Max subscribers. Once connected, users get a dashboard that shows lab results, prescriptions, fitness activity, and biomarker trends in one place. More integrations are coming soon, including ŌURA and Function.

Perplexity Health works by combining your personal metrics with trusted medical sources such as clinical guidelines and peer‑reviewed journals. This means the AI will be able to provide personalized insights, with answers that come with citations and reminders on when to seek professional help.

For privacy, data is encrypted and not used for AI training. It can also be disconnected or deleted anytime. An advisory board of doctors and researchers will help guide product decisions and ensure clinical safeguards.

Take note that Perplexity Health is not meant to replace medical advice. It just aims to make health information easier to understand and more relevant to your own data.

For those who use wearables and health apps daily, it could be a useful way to make sense of the numbers.
