OPPO debuts ColorOS 17 with AI tools, roll-out schedule announced

OPPO has launched ColorOS 17 worldwide, bringing a smoother design, new AI tools, and stronger privacy features. The update will first arrive on the upcoming Find X10 Series before reaching more OPPO phones in phases.

The new Living Flow Design makes the interface look and feel better. It adds softer visuals with lighting effects, smoother transitions, and touch feedback. OPPO also built a Unified Rendering Architecture that cuts rendering loads by 30% and lowers RAM use by 25%, making the system lighter and faster.

Performance gets a big upgrade with the Laminar Flow Engine. OPPO says app launch stability improves by 55%, Gallery thumbnails load 50% faster, and you can keep 25% more apps running in the background. Tests show the system stays over 90% smooth even after six years of simulated use.

AI is a big part of ColorOS 17. AI Mind Pilot adds Agent Mode to help organize files and plan tasks. AI Photo Agent lets you edit photos with simple commands and Style Match. AI Mind Space expands your personal hub with Memory Collections and trip planning, while AI Mind Suggest gives reminders and recommendations. OSee adds visual AI for recognition, scanning, translation, and nutrition checks.

Privacy and security also get stronger. The Private Computing Cloud now supports end-to-end encryption and post-quantum security. A Transparency Report adds accountability, while AI Call Guard detects fraud risks like synthetic voices during calls.
