After a long wait, Nokia’s first Windows Phone is finally here. The phone is called the Lumia 800 and it just looks like the Meego-running Nokia N9 handset.
The Nokia Lumia 800 is powered by a 1.4GHz CPU and measures just 12.1mm thick and sports a polycarbonate plastic enclosure. Just like the Nokia N9, the Lumia 800 has tapered edges and a curved ClearBlack AMOLED (800 x 480) display. It has 16GB of internal storage and 25GB of free SkyDrive space. The Lumia 800 features an 8 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics and an f/2.2 aperture designed for low-light settings. It also has Nokia Drive, Nokia Music and ESPN Sports Hub included in the OS.
As to pricing, the Nokia Lumia 800 will retail at $585 or about P25,000. It’s already up for pre-order in other countries and is scheduled to be released in France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and the UK starting November. It will then be released in Hong Kong, India, Russia, Singapore and Taiwan before the end of 2011. As to other markets, including the Philippines, the Nokia Lumia 800 will be available in 2012.
