Apple is likely planning on pairing the iPhone 5 with earphones that showcase a new design. A video from a Vietnamese source detailing what most likely is the new earphones for the next iPhone has spread online. The current earphone design we see in the iPhone 4S and in iPods has been with us for quite some time and Apple was seemingly happy with it. However, although it still sounds okay for stock earphones, they still leave too much to be desired, giving users no other option but to buy third-party earphones.
The new design, if the leak is authentic, will certainly have better performance if we base our conjectures on the earphone’s design. The size of the vent that goes into the ear canal has been reduced and Apple added another vent on the side, which appears much bigger in size. Also, the design should solve the problems with respect to the current earphone’s fit and sound isolation abilities.
