Apart from the new Mac OS X called Mavericks, Apple also unveiled a new line of Macbook Airs and the upcoming Mac Pro.
The hardware design of the new Macbook Airs is pretty much the same and nothing has been changed in the looks department. However, the difference is mainly in the performance as new line of Macbook Airs feature a new Haswell ULT which is said to deliver a much improved battery life and up to 40% faster graphics. Hence, the new 11-inch Macbook Air will get 9 hours battery life and the new 13-inch Macbook Air will get 12 hours battery life. That’s a lot of improvement over the previous Macbook Airs. That also translates to up to 10 hours of iTunes movie playback. The new Macbook Airs will have 802.11ac Wi-Fi.
The new Macbook Airs are priced at $999 for the 11-inch version and $1,099 for the 13-inch version.
Apple also introduced new AirPort base stations with entirely new designs and new Time Capsules with 2TB or 3TB hard drives.
Apple also unveiled the upcoming Mac Pro which is now 1/8 the size of the previous Mac Pro. It runs on dual AMD CPUs that Apple claims to deliver 7 teraflops of performance and supports 4K displays. It has 4 USB 3 ports and 6 Thunderbolt ports. Apple proudly declared that the new Mac Pro is designed in California and assembled in the US.
