Alcatel has new Android devices in its line-up – the OneTouch Idol S, OneTouch Idol Mini and OneTouch Evo 8 HD. The first two are smartphones while the last one is a tablet.
The Alcatel OneTouch Idol S is the larger of the two Android phones, sporting a 4.7-inch 1,280 x 720-pixel screen and weighing 110 grams. It is also the thinner phone with its profile measuring just 7.4mm. It’s powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, has 4GB of internal storage, 1GB of RAM and an 8-megapixel rear camera and 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera. The Idol S has DC-HSPA data connectivity.
The Alcatel OneTouch Idol Mini, on the other hand, has a 4.3-inch 854 x 480-pixel display and is lighter at 96 grams. It’s equipped with up to 8GB of internal storage, 512MB of RAM and a 5-megapixel rear camera and a VGA front camera. The Idol Mini runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and comes with HSPA+, Wi-Fi, A-GPS and Bluetooth 4.0 radios.
Both phones run Android 4.2 and have expandable storage up to 32GB via microSD slot.
The Alcatel OneTouch Evo 8 HD is an Android tablet with an 8-inch display featuring 1024×768 resolution. It has 4G LTE connectivity and is powered by a 1.6GHz dual core ARM Cortex-A9 processor. It packs a very limited 4GB of internal storage, but it supports cards up to 64GB in capacity.
Alcatel has not released details yet on the pricing and availability of the OneTouch Idol S, Idol Mini and Evo 8 HD.
