HTC has just unleashed its newest octa-core contender – the Desire 820. It boasts a slimmer profile, BoomSound speakers and an 8MP front camera (selfiers rejoice!).

The Desire 820 comes packed with a 5.5 inch Super LCD 2 screen, a 64 bit 0cta-core Snapdragon 615 processor, Adreno 405 GPU, and 2GB of RAM. The 64-bit support will be useful when playing games or using processor-heavy apps. But it has to be supported by Android and developers when it comes in Google’s next iteration of the popular OS. The big.LITTLE architecture pertains to the phone using the four 1.5GHz cores for heavy tasks, and the four 1GHz cores for the everyday stuff.

Looks like HTC is ready to compete. Are you interested yet?
