No surprises here. LG Electronics’ flagship smartphone LG G3 was crowned Best Smartphone of the Year by the GSMA (Groupe Speciale Mobile Association) at the Global Mobile Awards during the Mobile World Congress 2015 in Barcelona, Spain. On top of that, the LG Watch Urbane and LG Watch Urbane LTE also won nine awards at the event.

“Since launch, the LG G3 has been critically acclaimed, carried by over 170 partners across the globe and its success has largely contributed to the 16 percent increase in annual global revenue. It delivers an easy-to-use, intuitive user experience with its 5.5-inch Quad HD Display and 13-megapixel OIS+ camera with Laser Auto Focus. It is also packed with innovations such as Smart Keyboard, Gesture for Selfie, Flash for Selfie and Knock Code to offer a simply convenient, simply clever and simply safer user experience” said the GSMA in its award announcement.

The LG G3 is indeed one of last year’s best smartphones. The award only reiterated what we already know after we got our hands on the flagship. Be sure to read our review of the G3 here.
