SanDisk announced its new line of portable SSDs, the SanDisk Extreme 900 and 500. Held at the Romulo Cafe in Makati, the new SSDs were revealed in an intimate presentation with members of the media and the blogging community. The new drives feature extreme speeds, portability and durability.
SanDisk Extreme 900
The SanDisk Extreme 900 portable SSDs are all about capacity and performance. Available in up to 1.92TB, the drives have speeds of up to 850 Mbps. It comes with both USB Type-C and Type-A cables.
SanDisk Extreme 500
The SanDisk Extreme 500 portable SSD deliver more than four times the speed of a portable hard drive. The pocket-sized storage device has transfer speeds of up to 415 Mbps. It is light weight, designed for portability and durability.
Price and Availability
The SanDisk Extreme 900 portable SSDs will be available in 480GBm 960Gb and 1.92TB. SRP is PHP29,000, PHP43,500, and PHP72,500, respectively. The SanDisk Extreme 500 comes in 120GB and 240GB capacities, priced at PHP7,250 and PHP10,850 respectively. A 480GB version will be available in the fourth quarter of this year for PHP18,000. Both SSD lines are backed by a three year warranty.
