PLDT HOME, in collaboration with Intel, announced the new TVolution Stick yesterday at the M Cafe in Makati. The tiny device can turn any HDMI capable TV into a full blown computer.
It’s Not Like a Computer
The TVolution Stick is around the size of a small feature phone you can easily pocket. It connects to your TV through HDMI, powered via a DC wall charger or a power bank. Inside is a quad-core Intel Atom processor with Intel HD Graphics, 2GB RAM and 32GB storage. It has integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, a USB 2.0 port and a micro SD card slot. Powered by Windows 8, the TVolution Stick can be upgraded to Windows 10.
It IS a Computer
During the presentation, representatives from PLDT and Intel showed us a quick demo on what the TVolution can do. As a full on computer, you can browse the web with it, watch YouTube and iFlix, create and edit MS documents, and install full programs. They even connected an XBox controller and played a quick game.
Availability
On a limited run only until November 30, new DSL Plan 999 subscribers and up, and all PLDT HOME Fibr plans who applied onine will get the TVolution Stick for free, along with content from Fox, iFlix and Spinnr. The package will come with a wireless keyboard and mouse.
