WD Announces WD Blue and WD Green Solid State Drives

OPPO Reno12 Series 5G Pre-order

WD introduces its first WD-branded SATA solid state drives (SSD) WD Blue and WD Green.

Aside from adding more RAM, the next best upgrade you can do to improve your PC or laptop’s performance is to get a solid state drive. SSDs read data faster because of the way it’s constructed. Think of it as something like memory cards or SD cards. It has no spinning, moving or mechanical parts. So when you access an application or program, it is read instantly (no more spinning discs like traditional hard drives) and opens faster.

Now if you’re looking for reliable SSDs, WD has recently announced its product offerings.

The WD Blue SSD are optimized for multitasking and resource heavy applications, making it good options as reliable workhorses. It comes in 500GB and 1TB capacities, and in 2.5 inch or M.2 2280 form factors. Speeds are rated at 545MB/s and 525MB/s for read and write, respectively. MSRP is at P8,250 for the 500GB option, and P16,500 for the 1TB.

WD Green SSD

The WD Green SSD offers consistent performance and low power consumption for everyday use. It comes in 120GB and 240GB flavors, and in 25 inch and M.2 2280 form factors. Read and write times are up to 540MB/s and 405MB/s, respectively. MSRP for the 120GB is P2,700, while the 240GB is at P4,500.
