Vivo officially launches the Vivo V5 Plus in the Philippines. The 5.5-inch smartphone is the first to feature a 20MP dual front camera setup.

Vivo V5 Plus: First 20MP Dual Front Cam

The V5 Plus is Vivo’s latest flagship model and boasts the world’s first dual front camera setup using a 20MP + 8MP sensor configuration. The two sensors work together to produce that dramatic bokeh effect — where the main subject is clear and the background is blurred. How this works is that the primary 20MP Sony IMX376 front camera is used to provide clarity and color details, while the secondary 8MP camera for depth-of-field information.

Under the hood, the flagship is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor paired with 4GB of RAM and an Adreno 506 graphics chip. It has a generous 64GB internal storage, expandable via microSD card up to 256GB through the SIM 2 slot. The rest of the specs include a fast fingerprint sensor, a reasonably large 3,160 mAh battery with fast charging, and an AK4376 hi-fi audio chip.

  1. Vivo V5 plus also supports reverse charging so in case we need to charge other devices we can do that using a USB OTG with this phone.
