Vivo Y79 quietly launches in China. The smartphone features a 6-inch 18:9 display, an octa-core midrange processor, and a 24MP selfie camera.

Vivo launched whats looks to be an upgraded version of the Vivo V7+. Like the V7+, the Vivo Y79 features a 5.99-inch 18:9 display with an HD+ resolution (1440 x 720), topped by a 2.5D Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It, too, comes with an 84.4 percent screen-to-body ratio, giving it a tall, but slim profile.
Under the hood, the handset is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 paired with 4GB of RAM. It comes with 64GB of storage with microSD slot up to 256GB.

As for the cameras, the Vivo Y79 boasts a 24MP selfie camera with a f/2.o lens, a 1/2.78-inch sensor, and a Moonlight Glow Soft selfie light. The rear camera uses a 16MP sensor with f/2.0 lens and dual LED flash.
The rest of the specs include a fast Face ID unlock, an FM radio, an AK4376A Hi-Fi audio chip, and a 3,225 mAh battery.
The Vivo Y79 is currently only available in China with a retail price of CNY2,498 (roughly PHP19,500). It is available in Matte Black, Champagne, and Rose Gold. At the time of writing, there are no news if it will be available in the Philippines.
