ASUS ZenFone 5 series launching in the Philippines this April 2018

Just a few more weeks and we’ll see the much awaited ASUS ZenFone 5 series in the Philippines. The local launch is set on April 14, 2018.

The arrival of the ASUS ZenFone 5 series is fast coming, and it looks like the company is focusing on photography-centric smartphones.

According to ASUS Philippines, we’ll be seeing three members of the series, namely the flagship ZenFone 5Z, the ZenFone 5, and the ZenFone 5Q. Let’s do a quick roundup to see what each phone has to offer.

ASUS ZenFone 5Z

The ASUS ZenFone 5Z comes with a 6.2-inch display with a 19:9 aspect ratio and a 90% screen-to-body ratio. Featuring an all-screen design, slim profile, and thin bezels, the phone has a compact body 0f a 5.5-inch device.

Powering the device is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor with an AI engine, paired with an Adreno 630 graphics chip, 6GB of RAM, and 64GB of storage.

Focusing on photography, the handset has dual rear cameras powered by Sony IMX363 sensors. It comes with a secondary wide-angle camera, and AI enhancements that include auto scene detection, real-time portrait effects, AI Photo Learning, and more.

The ZenFone 5Z also has a 3,300 mAh battery, and Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.

Next is the ASUS ZenFone 5. The less expensive mid-ranger comes with a similar display and cameras as the 5Z, but with a lighter processor and RAM/storage.

Under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor with an Adreno 509 graphics unit and 4GB of RAM. It has 64GB of storage, expandable via microSD card up to 2TB.

The handset has the same cameras as the more expensive 5Z. It has dual rear cameras powered by Sony IMX363 sensors. The secondary camera has a wider angle and a host of AI enhancements that include auto scene detection, real-time portrait effects, AI Photo Learning, and more. The front camera uses an 8MP sensor with an f/2.0 lens.

And finally we have the ZenFone 5Q. The phone comes with 6.0-inch display, quad cameras, an octa-core Qualcomm processor, and a 3,300 mAh battery.

The quad cameras are composed of dual rear 16MP + 8MP sensors, and dual front 20MP + 8MP shooters.

Inside, the Snapdragon 630 processor is coupled with 4GB of RAM and a 64GB of storage.
