Vivo announces the NEX 2. The handset features dual displays, a Snapdragon 845 processor, and 10GB RAM.

Vivo NEX 2 Dual Display Edition

Vivo is stepping up its innovation game and recently announced the Vivo NEX 2 in a a launch event in China. The handset features two Super AMOLED displays — a regular one in front and a second one at the back.

The one in front is a 6.39-inch Super AMOLED screen with a 91.63% screen-to-body ratio and an under-display fingerprint scanner. It has no notch and no front camera (meaning you have to turn the phone over to take selfies). The one at the back is also a Super AMOLED screen but with a size of only 5.49-inches.

The unconventional approach allows the phone to switch between the two for greater flexibility. For example, in taking selfies, it is much easier to frame yourself with using the secondary display and the main camera.

As for the rest of the NEX 2, the specs are what you’d expect from a flagship. It has  Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, 10GB RAM, and 128GB storage.

The triple cameras consists of 12MP + 2MP + TOF 3D sensors. TOF is Time of Flight, and is used mainly for 3D sensing and facial recognition. The other two sensors are powered by Sony. It also has a Lunar Ring that acts like a ring softlight flash.

The device runs on FunTouch OS 4.5 on top of Android 8.1 Oreo, and powered by 3,500mAh battery.

The Vivo NEX 2 looks like its going to be a China only release with a price of CNY4,998 (or roughly around PHP38,500) with date of sale set on December 29, 2018.

Mas maganda sana kung tinaasan ang camera resolution at battery.
