Xiaomi recalls a batch of Mi Electric Scooters due to safety concerns

Xiaomi Philippines announced on their Facebook page that they are conducting a product safety recall on a batch of its Electric Scooters (M365) .

If you have recently purchased a Mi Electric Scooter (M365), you can check if it is part of the affected batch by going here:  https://www.mi.com/global/support/mi-electric-scooter-recall-program/.

If your unit is part of the recall program, they will provide you with instructions for the repair of your Mi Electric Scooter at no cost to you. You may also contact a Xiaomi Service Center nearest you.

Apparently, a limited number of units has a potential safety issue where a screw in the folding apparatus can come loose. This will cause the vertical component (the shaft with the handle) to separate from the main body while in use.

A total of 10,257 scooters are affected with serial numbers ranging from 21074/00000316 – 21074/00015107 and 16133/00541209 – 16133/00544518.
