Huawei has been doing a great job in wearables with their last few releases. This year’s latest, the Huawei Watch GT 2, is no different.
For starters, the smartwatch comes with a long battery life, which Huawei claims can last up to 2 weeks. It features a Kirin A1 chipset, specifically designed in-house for wearables which offers improved performance and low power consumption. It also runs their own LiteOS, which is light and responsive, but has no Google Play Store or third party apps.
Moreover, the watch can now receive phone calls and play music through an in-built speaker or via Bluetooth headphones. It also has a 1.39-inch HD AMOLED touch display, a 46mm casing, Bluetooth 5.1, a host of sensors, and 5 ATM water resistance (up to 50m depth for 10 minutes).
I recently received a Huawei Watch GT 2 46mm Sports edition for review. Here’s my quick unboxing and first impressions of the device.
The Huawei Watch GT 2 has a minimalist ultra-slim design with a 46mm casing and a 22mm strap fitting. At 41 g, it is light on the wrist with a soft touch Fluoroelastomer rubber strap.

At the back, the watch has a real-time optical heart rate sensor. It also has message notifications, TruSleep 2.0 sleep tracking and TruRelax pressure monitoring.
So far, I really like how it looks. It isn’t too bulky, unlike other brand smartwatches. The installed LiteOS feels fast and responsive as well.
That’s it for our quick unboxing and hands-on review of the Huawei Watch GT 2. The smartwatch is now available in stores with a price of PHP 10,990 with the Black Fluoroelastomer Strap, and PHP 13,990 with the Brown Leather Strap.
Be sure to catch our full review in the coming days.
