Sony announces WH-1000XM4 ANC headphones with up to 30 hours of battery life

Sony recently unveiled the WH-1000XM4. The latest model is the 4th iteration of over-ear wireless noise cancelling headphones in Sony’s award-winning 1000X series.

The WH-1000XM4 is coming to the Philippines starting August 2020 in Black and Platinum. Unfortunately, the retail price is yet to be announced.

The Sony WH-1000XM4 looks like its predecessor the XM3, with the same high quality and the same signature sound. But it does come with some nifty new features.

It still uses the Dual Noise Sensor technology to capture ambient noise with the use of two microphones on each earcup and passes the data to HD Noise Cancelling Processor QN1.

And thanks to the headphones’ upgraded algorithm and new Bluetooth chip, noise cancellation has improved, able to silence voices and other mid and high frequency sounds.

Another new feature is that the headphones can now pair with two Bluetooth devices at the same time for simultaneous playback.

The WH-1000XM4 also features the new Precise Voice Pickup that improves phone calls that work together with Speak-to-Chat that lowers volume during calls.

All the good things that come with the 1000X series are still there. You get a large 1.57″ driver with up to 30 hours of battery life with ANC on, Bluetooth 5 connectivity, NFC, and a USB Type-C port.

The WH-1000XM4 can detect when it is worn and automatically pauses the music when removed. It also supports Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa voice assistants.
