Sony recently announced the Alpha ZV-E10, a new Alpha series interchangeable lens camera for content creators. The new camera combines Sony’s advanced imaging technology with extensive usability and a custom-built feature set that is optimized for vloggers.
At its core, the Alpha ZV-E10 features a 24.2MP APS-C Exmor CMOS sensor and BIONZ X image processing engine. The camera includes many video-specific features found in the popular digital camera ZV-1 including “Background Defocus” that can smoothly switch between a blurred (bokeh) and sharp background, and the “Product Showcase Setting” mode that allows the camera to automatically shift focus from the subject’s face to an object being highlighted.
It can shoot 4K video and Slow Motion with high picture quality (FHD 120p). Electronic image stabilization with Active Mode is also available along with advanced AF technology, as well as high quality audio for clear sound recording.
The Alpha ZV-E10 features a lightweight form factor, a side-opening Vari-angle LCD Screen, ports for the microphone and headphones, and a microUSB.
For ease-of-use, it has a prominent video record button, and a quick switch to toggle between stills, video, and slow motion instead of a mode dial. It also has a tally light on the front and a red border around the viewfinder to show you when its recording.
