Smart is the ‘Most Reliable 5G Mobile Operator’ according to Ookla report

Smart Communications continues to lead the 5G revolution in the Philippines as it clinches the ‘Most Reliable 5G Mobile Operator’ award in the latest report by Ookla.

For this recognition, Smart obtained the highest scores in 5G Consistency and 5G Availability based on Ookla’s Speedtest Intelligence data in Q2 2021.

Ookla notes that 5G Consistency is calculated based on the percentage of a provider’s users that meet minimum download and upload speeds, while 5G Availability identifies the network whose users spend the highest percent of their time on 5G.

Smart topped 5G Consistency with a score of 89.78 percent versus Globe’s 78.15 percent. Smart also led in 5G Availability with a score of 14.67 percent versus Globe’s 11.86 percent

Prior to this, Ookla also cited Smart as Philippines’ Fastest 5G Mobile Network in Q1-Q2 2021, with median download and upload speeds that are twice as fast as its closest rival.

Smart led in download speeds with 220.66 Mbps versus Globe’s 103.22 Mbps. Smart also edged out competition in terms of upload speeds with 20.61 Mbps versus Globe’s 8.07 Mbps.
