Elon Musk is now a board member of Twitter. That came just a day before he bought in 9.2 percent of Twitter, valued at just under USD 3 billion, becoming its largest shareholder.
In a tweet, Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal shared the big news on April 5, saying “I’m excited to share that we’re appointing @elonmusk to our board! Through conversations with Elon in recent weeks, it became clear to us that he would bring great value to our Board.”
He’s both a passionate believer and intense critic of the service which is exactly what we need on @Twitter, and in the boardroom, to make us stronger in the long-term. Welcome Elon!

Musk replied on Twitter and said that he was “looking forward to working with Parag and Twitter board to make significant improvements to Twitter in coming months.”
On April 6, Musk tweeted out a poll asking his 80 million followers if Twitter needed an edit button. Over 4.4 million voted with an overwhelming 74% in favor of having the feature. Not soon after, Twitter revealed that they were already working on the feature since last year and that they “didn’t get the idea from a poll.”
Elon Musk is a huge addition to Twitter’s board. The Tesla CEO has a reputation for innovation, and boldness which more often than not lands him in hot water.
