Critically acclaimed and award-winning film director Sir Ridley Scott shot a short film using the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. The video was recently posted on Samsung’s official YouTube channel.
The short film, titled Behold, is 3 minutes and 49 seconds long. It was entirely shot using the Galaxy S23 Ultra, showcasing the smartphone’s video capabilities.
A behind-the-scenes video showed how it was done. The flagship was attached to a gimbal and the crew used professional equipment and professional editing software. It’s no different than what Apple did with their video Life is But a Dream, which was shot on the iPhone 13 Pro by renowned South Korean director Park Chan-wook.
Still, Sir Ridley Scott had a lot of good things to say about the phone, praising it for its ability to shoot high-quality videos in a compact form factor.

Sir Ridley Scott is a multi-awarded director and producer. He won a Golden Globe for Best Director for Gladiator (2000) and an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture for The Martian (2015). In addition, Scott has received recognition from various film organizations and festivals, including the BAFTA Awards and the Cannes Film Festival. He was also knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 2003 for his services to the British film industry.
