Sony has launched two new products aimed at professionals in the music and audio industry: the MDR-MV1 Reference Monitor Headphones and the C-80 microphone. Both products were designed to meet the increasing demand for high-quality sound and immersive audio experiences.

The MDR-MV1 Reference Monitor Headphones were engineered with comfort in mind, featuring breathable earpads and a lightweight design. They also boast long-lasting wear and reliability, making them ideal for mixing and mastering.
Their open-back design allows for accurate reproduction of a wide sound field, making them perfect for immersive spatial sound, such as 360 Reality Audio, as well as stereo sound with hi-resolution capability. The headphones’ uniquely developed driver units provide ultra-wideband playback, allowing professionals to capture localization, spaciousness, and detailed changes in sound processing.

The C-80 microphone, on the other hand, inherits the technology of Sony’s revered C-800G and popular C-100 microphones, making high-quality sound even more accessible. The microphone capsule is derived from the C-100 and a two-part metallic anti-vibrational body structure used in the C-800G.
Its “Noise Elimination Construction” prevents microphone body acoustic vibration, resulting in low noise and clear sound. The dual-diaphragm configuration in the C-80 suppresses sonic changes with distance, allowing for more stability in the vocal recording process.
