PLDT Enterprise, the B2B arm of PLDT, partnered with Leave a Nest, a Japanese company that aims to “advance science and technology for global happiness,” to support the TECH PLANTER in the Philippines 2023.
The event, held at the Ateneo de Manila University, showcased nine teams of startups and researchers from various fields such as biotech, eco-tech, med-tech, food-tech, agri-tech, and deep tech. They pitched their local solutions that address deep societal problems.
PLDT Enterprise, through its innovation arm PLDT Innolab, encouraged the finalists by providing them with mentorship and a co-working space. It also awarded the PLDT Enterprise Award to ARES, a smart agriculture startup that uses renewable energy and remote monitoring to optimize poultry farm production.
“We are looking for smart city solutions that integrate well with our Internet of Things capabilities and ARES’ vision connects well with this drive,” said Kristine Dara Ever Juan, head of PLDT Innolab. She stated that ARES’ technology aligned with PLDT Enterprise’s focus areas and sustainability goals.
The PLDT Enterprise Award gives ARES access to the labs and facilities of PLDT Innolab for six months to further develop and refine their product with the help of mentors. Through this collaboration, PLDT Enterprise and ARES can continue to promote sustainability and smart agriculture through their innovative solution.
PLDT Enterprise continues to enable the startup community to go further together with PLDT Innolab’s deep expertise in innovation development as they pursue groundbreaking solutions to bring positive impact to the community.
