Smart helps subscribers register and reactivate SIMs during registration ‘grace period’

Unregistered SIMs will be deactivated permanently after grace period ends on July 30.

Smart Communications is going all out to assist its subscribers with SIM registration and reactivation before the grace period ends on July 30.

The SIM card registration law requires all mobile users to register their SIM cards with valid IDs. Smart deactivated the outgoing services of unregistered SIMs on its network on July 26. Users have five days to apply for reactivation or risk losing their SIMs permanently.

Smart and its value brand TNT have sent text messages to affected subscribers with a link to the online SIM registration portal at simreg.smart.com.ph. They have also set up assisted SIM registration booths at Smart Stores and other locations nationwide. Subscribers can also get help from Smart and TNT’s Facebook Messenger account and hotline (02) 8888-1111.

To remind subscribers of the importance of SIM registration, Smart and TNT have launched a multimedia campaign called ‘Mag-SIM Reg para hindi SIM Dead‘. The campaign warns users of the inconvenience of losing their SIMs and missing out on the services offered by Smart and TNT.

Smart has been working with government agencies such as the DICT, NTC, and DILG, as well as local governments and private groups, to encourage and facilitate SIM registration across the country since December 26, 2022.

By registering their SIMs, Smart and TNT subscribers can enjoy data, call, and text services powered by the Philippines’ fastest and best mobile network, according to Ookla, the global leader in mobile and broadband network intelligence.
