HONOR recently launched a new device in its Play series, the HONOR Play 40S. The phone is aimed at the budget segment and offers a large battery and 5G connectivity.
The HONOR Play 40S features a 6.56-inch TFT LCD display with a resolution of 1612×720 pixels and a 90Hz refresh rate. The phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 480+ 5G chipset, an octa-core processor clocked at up to 2.2GHz. It also has an Adreno 619 GPU for graphics performance, 4GB of RAM, and 128GB of internal storage.
The HONOR Play 40S sports a single 13MP primary camera with an f/1.8 aperture and an LED flash. On the front, the phone has an 8MP selfie camera.
One of the smartphone’s main highlights is its massive 5200mAh battery, which supports 10W wired charging via a USB Type-C port. The phone also has a 3.5mm headphone jack, USB 2.0 support, and HONOR Histen sound effects. It runs on Android 13 with Magic UI 7.1 on top.
The HONOR Play 40S is available in two color options, namely Midnight Black and Green. The phone launched in China with a price tag of CNY 999 (around PHP 7,800 or USD 134) for the 4GB+128GB variant. Availability in other markets has not been announced yet.
