OPPO A38 unveiled with 50MP camera and 33W fast charging

OPPO has quietly launched a new smartphone in its A-series, the OPPO A38, in some markets including Malaysia and UAE.

The device is a budget-friendly offering that comes with a 50MP dual rear camera setup, a 6.56-inch HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate, and a 5,000mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging.

The OPPO A38 features a waterdrop notch on the front that houses a 5MP selfie camera. The back panel has a rectangular camera module that contains a 50MP primary sensor and a 2MP depth sensor, along with an LED flash. The phone also has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication.

The phone is powered by the MediaTek Helio G85 processor, paired with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage that can be expanded via a microSD card. It runs on Android 13 with ColorOS 13.1 on top. It also supports dual SIM, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The OPPO A38 packs a 5,000mAh battery that can be charged at up to 33W using the included adapter. OPPO claims that the phone can be charged from zero to 50% in just 30 minutes. It also has an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance.

The OPPO A38 is priced at MYR 599 (~PHP 7,300/USD 130) in Malaysia and AED 599 in UAE. It is available in two color options: Glowing Black and Glowing Gold. There is no word on the availability of the phone in other markets yet.
