Netflix’s One Piece live-action show renewed for Season 2

Netflix announced that its live-action adaptation of the popular manga and anime series One Piece has been renewed for a second season. The show, which premiered on August 31, 2023, follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy and his crew of Straw Hat pirates as they search for the legendary treasure known as the One Piece.

The first season of the show, which consists of eight episodes, covers the East Blue saga of the original story, introducing the main characters and their motivations. The show has received positive reviews from critics and fans alike, praising its faithful adaptation, diverse cast, and stunning visuals.

The cast of the show includes Iñaki Godoy as Luffy, Mackenyu as Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp, Taz Skylar as Sanji, Vincent Regan as Buggy, Jeff Ward as Koby, Morgan Davies as Kaya, and Michael Dorman as Gold Roger. The show is co-created by Steven Maeda and Matt Owens, who also serve as executive producers along with Eiichiro Oda, the original creator of One Piece.

One Piece is one of the most successful manga and anime franchises of all time, having sold over 490 million copies worldwide and spawned numerous spin-offs, films, games, and merchandise. The story follows Luffy’s journey to become the King of the Pirates and his encounters with various friends and foes along the way.
