Netflix recently released the first teaser trailer of its upcoming animated series, Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft, based on the popular video game franchise. The series will premiere on Netflix in 2024 and will feature Hayley Atwell as the voice of the iconic adventurer, Lara Croft.
The teaser trailer, which was unveiled at Netflix’s Drop 01 live stream, gives us a glimpse of Lara Croft exploring various locations around the world, from ancient tombs and temples to modern cities and jungles.
The series is produced by Legendary Entertainment and animated by Powerhouse Animation, the studio behind Netflix’s Castlevania and Masters of the Universe: Revelation. Tasha Huo serves as showrunner and executive producer, along with Dmitri M. Johnson, Stephan Bugaj, Howard Bliss, and Jacob Robinson.
The series takes place after the 2013–2018 Tomb Raider trilogy, which concluded with Shadow of the Tomb Raider. It will follow Lara Croft as she takes on the role of the legendary tomb raider that she is destined to become.
In addition to Hayley Atwell, the voice cast also includes Allen Maldonado as Zip, Lara’s tech expert, and Earl Baylon as Jonah Maiva, Lara’s loyal friend who appeared in Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft is one of the many video game adaptations that Netflix is working on, along with Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness, The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, Splinter Cell, Assassin’s Creed, Sonic Prime, and more.
Fans of Tomb Raider can look forward to seeing Lara Croft’s next chapter on Netflix in 2024.
