HONOR Play8T announced with 50MP camera and a massive battery

HONOR launched a new budget smartphone in China, the HONOR Play8T. The phone boasts a 50MP main camera, a 6000mAh battery, and a 6.8-inch FHD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate.

The HONOR Play8T is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6080 chipset, which is a 6nm octa-core processor with an integrated 5G modem. It comes with 8GB or 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, which can be expanded via a microSD card slot.

The phone has a dual camera setup on the back, consisting of a 50MP primary sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front, there is an 8MP selfie camera housed in a punch-hole cutout on the top center of the screen.

The HONOR Play8T has a large 6000mAh battery that supports 35W fast charging via a USB-C port. The phone also has a 3.5mm headphone jack, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and dual speakers. It runs on MagicOS 7.2 based on Android 13.

The HONOR Play8T comes in three color options: Midnight Black, Jade Green, and Streaming Silver. The phone is priced at CNY 1,099 (around PHP 8,600 / USD 150) for the 8GB+256GB variant and CNY 1,299 (around PHP 10,100 / USD 170) for the 12GB+256GB variant.

It is currently on sale in China. However, it is not clear if the phone will be available in other markets.
