HONOR unveiled its latest mid-range smartphone, the HONOR X9b, which boasts of a three-level Ultra-Bounce Anti-Drop Display, a 1.5K OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor.
The HONOR X9b is an upgraded version of the HONOR X9a, which launched earlier this year. Compared to its predecessor, the X9b is an overall improvement, sporting a bigger display with a higher resolution and refresh rate, a newer processor, a bigger battery with a slightly faster charging speed, and a higher-resolution main camera.
The HONOR X9b also features HONOR’s new three-level Ultra-Bounce Anti-Drop Display 360-degree Anti-Drop Protection, which consists of three layers of reinforcement for the screen, frame, and internal compartments.
HONOR claims it is the first phone in the industry to receive a five-star overall drop resistance certification from Swiss-based test and certification company, SGS.
At the front, the HONOR X9b has a 6.78-inch 1.5K OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, which supports 100% DCI-P3 color gamut and 1.07 billion colors for vivid and accurate colors. It also has an in-display fingerprint sensor and a punch-hole selfie camera.
Under the hood, the phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor, which is based on a 4nm process. It also supports 5G connectivity with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.
There’s a triple-camera setup at the back, which consists of a 108MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 2MP macro camera. The front camera is a 16MP shooter that supports AI beautification and portrait mode.
The phone also has a large 5800mAh battery that supports 45W fast charging. It runs on MagicOS 7.2, based on Android 13.
The HONOR X9b comes in three colors: Sunrise Orange, Midnight Black, and Emerald Green. Only the Sunrise Orange color is made of vegan leather material. Price and availability details are yet to be released.
