Epson introduced two new models of its WorkForce Pro Series printers, WF-M5399 and WF-M5899. These are monochrome business inkjet printers that offer high performance, low energy consumption, and enhanced security features for small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
The WF-M5399 is a single-function printer that can only print, while the WF-M5899 is a multifunction printer that can also scan, copy, and fax. Both printers use Epson’s heat-free technology, which reduces power usage and maintenance costs compared to laser printers. Epson claims that its inkjet printers consume up to 85% less energy than similar-speed laser printers.
The new printers also deliver high-quality prints with pigment inks at speeds of up to 25 pages per minute. They support automatic duplex printing and scanning, which saves paper and time. They can print up to 40,000 pages with extra high-yield ink packs, which reduces downtime and waste. They have built-in Ethernet and Wi-Fi connectivity, which allows multiple users to print from anywhere on the network. They have a paper capacity of up to 1,830 sheets with optional paper cassettes, which reduces the need for frequent paper loading. They can also automatically select the paper type and size according to the print job.
The WF-M5399 and WF-M5899 are equipped with Epson Solutions Suite, a set of software tools that improve the efficiency and security of business operations. Users can manage printers remotely using Epson Device Admin or Epson Remote Services. They can also prevent unauthorized usage of the printers with Epson Print Admin, which requires user authentication to release prints and distribute documents. The WF-M5899 also supports Epson Print Admin – Advanced Workflows and Document Capture Pro solutions, which automate the conversion of paper documents into searchable PDF files and enable cloud service integration.
