OnePlus is entering the AI arena with its latest feature announcement, the AI Eraser. The upcoming feature is coming this month to select OnePlus phones.
The AI Eraser works like Google’s Magic Eraser and Samsung’s Object Eraser, leveraging AI to delete unwanted elements in a photo. Take the sample image below from OnePlus, which shows the hands digitally removed and filled with background elements to make it look natural.
According to OnePlus, the AI Eraser was developed from the ground up. “AI Eraser is the result of a substantial R&D investment from OnePlus,” the company said.
OnePlus adds that the LLM (large language model) that powers the new feature has been “trained on a vast dataset that allows it to comprehend complex scenes,” which allows it to “intelligently substitute unwanted objects with contextually appropriate elements that naturally elevate the photo’s appeal.”
The AI Eraser is coming to the OnePlus 12, OnePlus 12R, OnePlus Open, OnePlus 11, and OnePlus Nord CE4 sometime this month. The company plans to introduce more AI-powered features in the future.
