Eddie Murphy returns as ‘Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F’ trailer drops on Netflix

The movie reunites Eddie Murphy with Judge Reinhold and John Ashton.

Fans of the classic action-comedy franchise rejoice! A new trailer for “Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F” landed on Netflix, bringing Eddie Murphy back to his iconic role of Detective Axel Foley.

The trailer reveals a plot that throws the old-school Detroit cop back to Beverly Hills. This time, it’s personal. When his daughter’s (played by Taylour Paige) life is threatened, Foley is forced to team up with a new partner (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) and reunite with his old buddies Billy Rosewood (Judge Reinhold) and John Taggart (John Ashton).

Judging by the high-octane action sequences of the trailer and Murphy’s signature comedic timing, “Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F” promises to recapture the magic of the original films while introducing a new generation to the wisecracking detective.

The film was directed by Mark Molloy, with a story by Will Beall and a screenplay by Beall, Tom Gormican, and Kevin Etten. Jerry Bruckheimer, Eddie Murphy, and Chad Oman serve as producers, alongside a team of executive producers.

Fans can expect to see familiar faces alongside the newcomers. Rounding out the cast are Judge Reinhold, John Ashton, Paul Reiser, Bronson Pinchot, and Kevin Bacon.

“Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F” will premiere on Netflix on July 3, 2024. For more information about the film, visit www.netflix.com/BeverlyHillsCopAxelF.
