ASUS launched the ROG Ally X. Priced at $799 (or roughly PHP 47,000), the handheld gaming device brings several upgrades from the first Ally.

One of the biggest changes of Ally X is the location of the microSD card slot, which they have now moved away from the exhaust vent. In the older model, its location near the vent was causing it to fail.

The ROG Ally X also has double the battery size from 40W to 80W. Memory and storage have been improved as well with 24GB LPDDR5 RAM and 1TB SSD, respectively.

The overall design was also slightly updated with smoother curves and improved ergonomics. It has two USB-C ports, one a Thunderbolt 4 and the other a USB 3.2 Gen 2 that supports DisplayPort and power delivery.

Apart from the changes, its other features remain the same. The ROG Ally still has an AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme chipset and a 7-inch Full HD IPS touchscreen with a 120Hz refresh rate and FreeSync Premium technology.

It has an asymmetrical stick layout, flat face buttons, a dish-shaped D-pad, and two paddles on the back that can be remapped to any function. It also has a gyro sensor for motion controls in supported games.

The Ally X runs on Windows 11 Home with the Armoury Crate SE. It also supports thousands of games from different platforms, including Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG, Origin, and Xbox Game Pass.
