UAAP breaks new ground as it launches its first-ever esports tournament. The highly anticipated event kicks off at the Hyundai Hall in Ateneo de Manila University, featuring three popular titles: NBA 2K, Valorant, and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.
All eight member schools, led by host UP Diliman, will be vying for glory in the competition.
The tournament kicks off with NBA 2K, running from today until August 15. Valorant takes center stage from August 16 to 17, followed by the widely popular Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) capping off the competition this weekend.
The esports tournament holds exhibition status for now. Victories in these competitions will not be counted in the overall UAAP championship standings.
The games are live-streamed on One Sports’ YouTube channel, Pilipinas Live, the Varsity Channel, and One Sports.
UAAP Season 87 will officially open on September 7 at the Mall of Asia Arena, with the highly anticipated men’s basketball taking the spotlight.
