The UAAP opening ceremonies always get a lot of people excited. It’s the time of year when schools start compete for the much coveted basketball championship. Not surprisingly, therefore, “UAAP Opening” has been trending on Twitter for a couple of days now.
The 74th season themed “All Out, All Heart” is hosted by Ateneo de Manila University, which tried to impress with a league-first Olympic-style opening ceremony. The heavy rain did not deter the 3,700 athletes who paraded around the track oval of the Marikina Sports Complex. It was Olsen Racela who lighted the cauldron to signal the start of the 74th season.
