Just weeks after its launch, the iPhone 16 Pro has been plagued by touchscreen issues. Users have reported that the device fails to register certain swipes and taps.
The problem seems to be widespread, affecting iOS 18 and iOS 18.1 users. According to reports on Reddit, the issue happens when a user’s skin accidentally touches the screen area near the new camera control button before interacting with any other part of the display. This causes the entire screen to become unresponsive, except for the home bar.

While the exact cause of the touchscreen problems remains unclear, some users speculate that it could be a software-related issue. However, it’s important to note that not all iPhone 16 Pro users are experiencing this problem.
Apple has yet to publicly acknowledge the touchscreen issues or provide a timeline for a potential fix. As more users report the problem, it remains to be seen whether the company will release a software update to fix the issue.
The iPhone 16 and 16 Pro are not yet officially available in the Philippines. Expect the devices to launch in the country sometime in October. For now, check out the official prices, which you can see here.
