Xiaomi recently unveiled the Redmi A4 5G at the Indian Mobile Congress (IMC) 2024. This budget-friendly device is the first to feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 processor, a new chipset designed to power entry-level 5G smartphones.
According to Xiaomi India, the Redmi A4 5G will be priced under INR 10,000, which is roughly under Php 6,800. However, details of its specifications are still under wraps.
As for the processor, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 SoC is a 4nm-based SoC with two performance cores clocked at 2GHz and six efficiency cores at 1.8GHz. This chipset supports LPDDR4x RAM, UFS 3.1 storage, Wi-Fi 5, and Bluetooth 5.1.
In terms of display, the new chip can also support an FHD+ screen with up to 90Hz refresh rate. It can handle dual 16MP lenses or a 32MP sensor at the rear. Additionally, 40W charging and AI-enhanced audio is also supported.
At this point, its too early to tell if the phone will be released in the Philippines. Stay tuned for now.
